He saw his first action with the national team on Wednesday evening when, playing alongside Atlanta Hawks center Al Horford and Sacramento Kings guard Francisco Garcia, Fermin came off the bench to score seven points, grab six rebounds and distribute five assists against just one turnover during a 101-97 overtime victory against Team Ignition, a collection of NBA Developmental League players. Amarys is a cool guy, and he seems to be a hard worker and team player. I'm sure he will do well, and enjoy the time playing with pro basketball players and the experience in the Olympics. Hopefully he can parley his skillset and resume bump into a pro career somewhere in the world.

Posts: 313 Jul 5 12 9:04 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	So Amaurys was the rookie at Centrobasket for the DR team. He got some playing time, but Cal shortened his bench in the semis and finals. The Dominican team won the championship - beat Puerto Rico in the final - and Amaurys sounds like he was just happy to be there. I caught up with him again while he was in town moving out. His next step is to hang out as an alternate (or some such designation) until he goes to play in the pro league in DR starting in a week or two. We'll have the podcast posted tomorrow (Friday) morning on www.fansmanship.com.
